Tongues of Fire Wearable Craft Activity

Here's a craft that you can do with your children when learning about the gifts of the Holy Spirit or it can also be an activity for Pentecost.

You will need:
White sheets of paper, preferably one for each child
A couple of red and yellow paper (if you don't have any, you may download the tongues of fire template here, color them out, then cut them)
Glue
Scissors
Stapler or tape

How to:
1. Prepare your tongues of fire. Preferably one for each child. You may want to make one for yourself too. Cut out a big flame from red paper. Cut out a small flame from yellow paper. You may use the template if you are not so confident in making the flame shape. If you will be using the flame template, let your children color or paint on it first before cutting.

2. Stick on the small yellow flame onto the big red flame. Little ones can do this easily. Don't worry if its not in the center, unless they stress about it. Set aside. You may want to keep the finished tongue of fire away from your toddler. Toddlers love peeling things off remember? Preschoolers will try and follow your every instruction. They may even get ahead of you. Relax, its all fun.

3. Fold your white paper in half lengthwise. Then cut along the fold.

4. You now have two long sheets of paper. Fold each again lengthwise. Staple the two pieces together. Measure around the circumference of your child's head and staple the two ends to make a crown. I use masking tape for the littlest ones because I'm a little afraid they might get hurt with the staples.

5. Glue the tongue of fire onto the crown and viola!
