Mama Mary
The whole month of May is dedicated to The Blessed Virgin Mary. Filipinos offer flowers to the Blessed Virgin before or after daily and Sunday masses. During the pandemic, most of us could come to church, so I had the idea of offering our drawings, paintings or crafted flowers to our Blessed Mother.
Join me at @weenacontrerasart for the Flowers for Mary: Daily Flower Sketch Challenge
I have a FREE printable of the Blessed Mother here. You can print it and add flowers on her head each day for the whole month of May.
Now that we are able to gather once again at church, try to participate in the daily devotion in your parish to offer flowers to our Blessed Mother after the mass.
And since its her month, I would like to encourage each family to pray the rosary. If you're doing Picture Study, like us, this FREE Mysteries of the Holy Rosary Guide is for you.
May 1 is the feast of St. Joseph, the worker. You can find ways to celebrate in this blog post: Celebrating The Feast of St Joseph, Husband of Mary
Sunday Gospel Readings
May 2, 2021. (Cycle B) The Vine and The Branches John 15: 1-8.
Even before the pandemic, our family prepares for Sunday mass by reading the Sunday Gospel after breakfast. Since it is also a homeschool day (not a weekend) We do narration and journaling also. After reading (and/or listening) to the Gospel each member narrates back what has been read, starting from the youngest up to the eldest (including Nanay - Mom and Tatay - Dad). We also do Scripture memory from the Gospel. I have another FREE printable to use in memorizing a verse in the Gospel.
There is a Scripture Memory coloring page, a word search and a word factory activity page here.
